GRP Roof Lighting
Glass-reinforced polyester (GRP) is a translucent thermoset material under the general heading of plastic that, once formed into the required shape, can never be reshaped after curing. MODEK manufactures GRP using an automated continuous-line laminating machine that ensures consistently high product quality in successive consignments and allows for any transportable length of sheet to be made. It is available in a range of popular colours and shapes.
Glass-reinforced polyester (GRP) was first manufactured in South Africa in 1959. It is a very tough and durable material that in opaque format is used for yacht hulls, aircraft nose cones and minesweeper
hulls. It has a number of popular applications and benefits.
- MODEK GRP is scratch-resistant, making it easy to handle on site, and UV resistant, to protect people and interiors from harmful UV rays
- When choosing MODEK GRP, you will need to specify colour, clarity/opacity, profile and weight required
- Modek has also launched a non-fragile GRP roof light to increase safety in the workplace
